Since 2010, the research team at Sultana developed a complex experimental archaeology program with the purpose of recreating Boian and Gumelnita structures and objects. This includes the processing of wood, bone, antler etc. in order to enable us to test various methods and techniques which would resemble closely with the originals recovered. The program helped the research with a great amount of evidence obtained by verifying hypotheses which in turn allowed us to better visualize everyday life of these prehistoric groups.
Currently, the program is focused on the
- Neolithic architecture
- Neolithic ceramic
- Flint, bone and antler tool manufacture
- Resource exploitation
